dad, Mom Life, parent, self help

You and your little genius has been in the home now for at least a week. A wonderful way to break the monotony is to tap into your inner child.

Remember what it was like playing games like castle… make pretend… or even tag. Throw the rules away and put caution to the wind.  Here is a list of fun and simple games that will allow you to let loose. I guarantee, you and your little geniuses will have a ton of fun!

  • Red Rover:
    • Two teams line up opposite each other, no more than 30 feet apart. The first team agrees to call one player from the opposite team, and chants, “Red RoverRed Rover, send (player’s name) on over!” The person called runs to the other line and attempts to break the chain (formed by the linking of hands)
  • Castle:
    • Save your little genius from a firy dragon! Take a toy and make it the enemy. Run through the house and pretend that you are doing everything you can to save the prince or princesses life.
  • Tea Party:
    • This is a great game when you want a calm environment. Put on something “ Fancy” and take out your tea cups. Sit, Pretend, and Sip
  • Tick Tac Toe
    • Make the game big by using blankets as the rows and pillows as the X’s and O’s
  • Home Olympics
    • Have your little genius run around the couch, jump zig zag through the kitchen, do a cartwheel at the front door.

What every you do, have some fun! The children will burn some energy and you will relieve some stress!

Meditation Monday

encouragement, faith, inspiration, self help, truth, Uncategorized

Guess what…. its Monday! Here on good girl issues, I’m here to help you take control of your week. By making a few minutes to mediate, you can not only change the atmosphere, but you can change your outlook on the entire week!  In Psalms 46:10 God instructs us to be still and Know God, which means that when we choose to sit in the presence of God, with an open areas and a closed mouth, then we can attain real peace and understanding. while it is appropriate to have question and conversation with God, I challenge you to be still today. Allow God to impart His peace into your week. Selah

Today on Meditation Monday I’d like to talk about the weight of unforgiveness. Unforgiveness can become a cancer in our spirit and the word of God says if we can not forgive one another God will not forgive us! This Monday let go of the pain someone has caused you, become embraced by Gods love and his forgiveness as you learn to forgive others. Take this moment to get quiet and seek Gods peace for your life… enjoy! #SLiM

What weight are you carrying behind your eyes? Jobs, relationships, family, they all can be stressors in our life if we don’t learn how to balance our concern with our responsibility. Meditation is something I do now because it allows me to separate things that belong to God from the things I should be handling. By slowing down and taking a few minutes to breathe, I leave meditation feeling both balanced and capable. The responsibilities around me no longer plague my existence, and by meditating I have set my burdens on the appropriate alter where God can step in and take over. Your help is in what you hear…

devotion, faith, God, self help

Truth changes you, it has the ability to transform your world as you know it to exist, but are you getting fed “truth” in your life?

If there was a tragic storm and over the radio, the city gave instructions for you and your family to be saved, would you agree that your ability to hear changed your life? What if the same situation occurred in your faith? Why is it that in spirituality we are willing to turn our radios on and off at will, with no urgency or expectancy of help and provision?

As Christians, our life and the lives around us is at stake and the information we receive can change the course of our future. People of God lets stop living our spiritual life haphazardly and plug into the word of God, and a church that preaches the word of God. Our provision is coming, the word has been set into action… its time for you to turn your radio on. Selah #SLiM
