My daughter taught me to love myself. Birthing a beautiful
chocolate princess with cotton coils and a dimpled smile opened my eyes to the
beauty that is me. The way she studies how I hold my shoulders curve my lips
and tame my hair brought awareness to how I carried myself.
I had to think …
“Am I teaching my
daughter to like herself or love herself?”
“Am I putting up with my looks or appreciation my looks?”
Before my daughter I had not considered the importance of presenting
myself to the world. Not as a performance, but in an intentional way that says,
“I am important, I am loved, and I deserve respect.”
While I compliment my daughter and show her love, I realized
that the most effective way to teach her self-worth and confidence is to SHOW self-worth

Here on good girl issues we advocate mental health. A courageous woman named Michelle Williams has came forward as an spokesperson for mental health awareness. She had been battling depression for most of her life and she shares her story here.
People of God do not let mental illness separate you from the love of God! Battling an illness is not a sin nor a crime. The devil wants you to be quite but now is the time to raise your voice. Do not fight alone. Reach out to someone who can help. God loves you and desires for your life to be blessed and prosperous. Check out this champion, she has made it through and so can you! Selah
It is not your job to make sure everyone around you understands and accepts you. If you live a life juggling peoples impression of you, you will live a life full of frustration and exhaustion. Instead, live a life that is fulfilling to God, and the rest will fall into place. Allow God to be the avenger of your character and intentions. Make a point in your day to be your best and give your best, then leave the rest up to God. That is when you infuse peace into your existence. Selah #SLiM #truth #inspiration #life #keepitreal
The most powerful thing you can do is allow God to have His way in your life. When God inspires you, it is then your responsibility to move as God says move. You are smart, creative, and capable… but God is Omnipresent, all knowing, and all powerful. In God the impossible becomes possible. So be thankful for the inspiration, then show your gratitude by infusing His love and vision into everything you do.
One of the greatest challenges in being “great” is developing patients. Patients to keep learning, keep pressing, keep smiling, keep being kind, to keep being hopeful even when things look to be going opposite of your way. Patients is one of the fruits of the spirit which is love.
True love says that “For God so loved the world that He gave” so giving is the personality of God and the personality of love. Why is it important to know this??? Because if you are in a relationship with God, then you must understand that love makes you wait because love perfects your gift before giving it to you.
For example, I can run to Walgreens and pick up any card and any gift, put it in a random bag and give my husband the present. But… because I love him, I go to the store look for a gift that would make him smile. I take the time to go up and down each aisle until I find something he would love and enjoy. Lastly, I choose a bag to wrap this gift into something that makes the present shine. If I love my husband enough to do all of this, how much do you think God loves us.
Yes, God wants us to have what we need and desire, but He doesn’t want to give it to us haphazardly. God takes His time, chooses the best gift with the best wrapping delivered in the best time so that it’s not only appreciated but cherished. Today, exercise patients and watch God bless you with a gift greater than you ever expected.
When I woke up today the scripture in Mark chapter 12:31 was in my heart-
31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
When I was praying God told me that we must be reminded that everyone on this earth has had good days, bad days, made mistakes, accomplished something, had a friend, lost a friend, the list can go on and on. But the point is that despite our choices, actions, or lifestyle we as human beings are more alike than different. And we as the people of God have a responsibility to love instead of dehumanizing.
If we are honest, we are quick to justify then forgive ourselves, but can we say the same for our neighbor? Let’s practice LIVING the Word of God today. I can know you are a thief and still genuinely care about you getting to know Christ and His love. Will I leave my purse around you…? NO… but I can still be there for you and pray for you. Our differences shouldn’t be a barricade between Gods love and intention for our neighbor. We can do better body of Christ… we Will do better. Peace
